The Fundación General CSIC’s exhibition “A vivir que son 100 años” (Let’s Live to be 100 Years Old) is opening its doors again, this time at the Miguel Hernández University (UMH) on the Elche Campus. The official opening of the exhibition, by Juan José Ruiz Martínez, Rector of the University, will take place on June 15th, as part of the awareness-raising day held on the occasion of the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.
Inaugurated in 2018 at the Casa de la Ciencia-CSIC in Seville, the exhibition has travelled to various locations in Spain (Valladolid, Santiago de Compostela, Vigo, Pontevedra, Logroño and Valencia). Imbued with an optimistic view on ageing, the exhibition presents the determining factors on how to live this process in the best possible conditions, and analyses issues of general interest, such as the effects of retirement on each person, the maintenance of the current welfare state, medical and technological advances in ageing and the functioning of pension and health systems.
Among the activities to be developed around the exhibition, a photography competition aimed at UMH students has already been announced.
The exhibition can be visited in the Hall of the Altabix Building on the Elche Campus from 15th June to 31st October 2022.
