What is strategic R&D planning? How can its objectives be defined? What examples can we draw upon? These and other questions were answered at the workshop on strategic R&D planning organised by the FGCSIC and held on 14 November. María Sanz, head of FGCSIC’s Strategy Unit, explained the importance of this new tool for R&D in helping organisations achieve their goals. Caixa Forum was again chosen by the Fundación General CSIC as the venue for the workshop on strategic R&D planning, a sphere in which the FGCSIC has its own model. .

Workshop - ¿Qué es la planificación estratégica en la I+D?During the workshop, theory and practice were combined, and María Sanz was accompanied by Joan Cortadellas, Lluis Rovira, José Luis Marco, Belén Gutiérrez and Víctor Rodrigo, who talked about strategic planning in universities, the model of CERCA centres in Catalonia, the keys to defining strategic plans in research, and the experience and observation of strategic planning in an R&D organisation, from the viewpoint of an external advisor.

The event was relayed by video streaming and followed by over 200 people.
