Award Ceremony for the Proyectos Cero call on Endangered Species

The official announcement of the winners of the Fundación General CSIC’s Proyectos Cero Endangered Species funding is taking place on Tuesday, 18 January at the headquarters of the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas. The event will be presided over by Rafael Rodrigo, president of the CSIC and the Fundación General CSIC, and Emilio Botin, chairman of Banco Santander.

The event will be divided into three sections, beginning with a speech by the director of the Fundación CSIC, Javier Rey, who will present the Endangered Species strategic line, and the actions it involves: The Proyectos Cero call for proposals, microsite and information videos, and a special issue of the journalLychnos.
Next, Enrique Marcpherson, CSIC research professor and coordinator of the evaluation commission selecting the projects for the 2010 edition, will give a talk entitled «Entre el deseo de salvar al mundo y el deseo de saborear el mundo» (Between the desire to save the world and the desire to savour the world).

Finally, Rafael Rodriguez, president of the CSIC and of the Fundación General CSIC, and Emilio Botin, president of Banco Santander, will kick off the third section of the event, at which the five projects selected to receive funding will be presented funding and the principal investigators given their funding award documents.
